Colonel Hartland Sanders

Is a hero to many folk

Of this I am quite sure

I assure you it’s no joke

For he introduced to the world

What we know as KFC

The wonderful Kentucky Fried Chicken

That is loved by you and me

We thank him for the special blend

Of eleven herbs and spices

My only real KFC complaint

Is about the bloody prices!

But sometimes you just have to go

So you can gobble down your Zinger

Or whatever food you choose to have

You just let that flavour linger

Oh, that wonderful chicken!

Even the sides are absolutely ace

I mean have you tasted that gravy?

KFC, oh what a place!

Becoming Happy

It is another Saturday night

I am staying in yet again

Jobless and in a recession

I stay here in my den

No alcohol-fuelled party

No job to go to on Monday

All these things should make me sad

But at this time I must say

That I am genuinely happy

And while there is much work to do

I am finding peace in my life

Plus I see a good future too

It really is amazing to think

That not long ago I was all over the place

But now I can not help but go around

With a nice big grin on my face!
